Exhibition Drive is located in Arataki Visitor Centre
Exhibition Drive is one of the most popular tracks within the park. Originally a section of the tramline used for transporting supplies to the Upper Nihotupu Dam site from near Lopdell House in Titirangi. The track is now a flat gravel service road closed to public vehicles. In the winter months it is a popular place for jogging and group walking. The lack of vehicles and wide flat surface also makes for a popular family cycling spot.
Parking is available at the disused Nihotupu Filter Station (located at the junction of Scenic Drive and Woodlands Park Road). The track follows an old gravel road that was originally a tramline. The track meets the south end of Shaw Road near the halfway point and continues to a point overlooking the Lower Nihotupu Reservoir at Mackies Rest.
Easy access short walks are suitable for everyone, including assisted wheelchair users, mountain buggies, and young families. All easy access short walks are part of the path classification of tracks and are suitable for people of most ages, mobility and fitness.
Theft from vehicles is not common but unfortunately can happen.
You should take the same reasonable precautions you take when parking at other locations and remember to lock your vehicle and take your valuables with you.
