Walking track

This multi-use walking and mountain biking track branches off the Oruawharo River Trail, half way between the Clearfell Track intersection and the woolshed. The track loops around Kauri Point through the farm land. There are great views looking across Atiu Creek estuary and back over the park towards the main car park. There are mountain bike / mountain buggy ramps around the entire loop. Follow the orange markers.

What to expect

Walking tracks should be suitable for people with reasonable fitness levels.

Walking tracks will:
  • Have easy to moderate grades with mostly compacted and drained surfaces.
  • Be well sign-posted with directional signs at track entrances and junctions and have safety signs where required.
Walking tracks may:
  • Have steps on excessively steep areas.
  • Have timber boardwalks and bridges over permanent wet areas and waterways.
  • Have seats and maintained views at areas of interest.


Theft from vehicles is not common but unfortunately can happen. You should take the same reasonable precautions you take when parking at other locations and remember to lock your vehicle and take your valuables with you.


All Atiu Creek tracks
