Check in time:   2:00 p.m.
Check out time:  10 a.m.
Cleaning: Bach operates on a self-clean basis.
Bedrooms: Five bedrooms: two with queen beds, two with two singles and one with a set of bunk beds. Please note: top bunks are not recommended for children under 9yrs.
Bathroom: One ensuite with shower and toilet to main bedroom; one shared bathroom with bath and shower; one toilet ensuite to bunkroom.
Kitchen: Gas hob and oven, and wood range. Fridge/freezer is electric, powered by solar and back-up generator. Kettle, pots/pans, cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery provided.
Power supply: Great Barrier has NO MAINS electricity. 24-hour power is supplied via solar with back-up generator. Please be considerate of your power use - turn off lights when you leave a room.
Water: Water supply is either via spring or stream fed to tanks, then to the houses. All tap water in the house is drinkable, but do boil if you are concerned. Please conserve water.
Heating: Wood heater. Radiators in the house are heated via the kitchen wood range.
Rubbish: There is a land-fill (garbage) bin, a recycling bin and a compost bin. Compost is fed to pigs so can include any edible matter. Wash and flatten recyclables before placing in bin. Great Barrier only has a small lanfill and all recyclables must be returned to the mainland. Think about minimising packaging in advance, and taking rubbish home.
You need to supply: Foord, personal items etc. A torch is useful as there are no streetlights. There is no toaster or hair-dryer as these draw too much power from the system. Toast bread using the grill on the oven. If you must use a hairdryer or straightener, you will need to ask for the generator to be turned on.
Boat launching: There are no boat launching facilities at the park, but the public boat ramp is a 5-minute drive away at Port Fitzroy.
