Information

Please note that booking hours for regional parks campgrounds, SCC campgrounds, SCC parking areas, baches and bookable sites is as follows:

Daylight saving: 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday through to Sunday
Non daylight saving: 8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Monday through to Sunday

No bookings can be taken over the phone (or in person on site) outside of these times.

No cash payments are available at any time on park. We strongly recommend that you call our contact centre in advance of your arrival on park on (09) 366 2000, option 1, to make your booking.

Animals (except aid dogs) are prohibited at all times.

All our regional parks are rubbish free. Whether you call it rubbish, trash or garbage, please bag it all up and recycle it or throw it away when you return home.

Permanent structure with concrete floor, rain proof roof and open sides. Trees also provide shelter from the sun and wind. 2 picnic tables. 100m to beach. Water on site. Suitable for wheel chairs.

Booking restriction period: This site can be booked up to twelve months in advance.
Potable water: On site
Picnic tables: Four tables, two of them are suitable for wheel chairs.
Shelter: A permanent structure 6 meters by 10.5 meters with concrete floor, rain proof roof and open sides. Trees that provide shelter from the sun and wind.
Site occupation: The site MUST be occupied by 9:00am, or the site will be made available to other users.
Marquees:

Are permitted up to 100 square meters. NO vehicle access to the site and marquee MUST BE CARRIED ON SITE BY HAND. Must be arranged and approved at the same time as the booking. Restrictions and conditions apply. The Park Duty Ranger must approve the actual location to ensure water and sewage pipes are not hit and broken. Marquees over 30 square meters may require a temporary building consent. Check with your hire company.

BBQ: 2 electric, free
Tables: 2 picnic tables set on cobble a stone of which 1 has extended top ends allowing people in wheel chairs to use each end of the table.  The cobbled area is accessible by wheel chair from the shelter.
Shelter: Large shelter structure, trees
Surface: Large and flat
Beach: 100m to beach
Toilets: 50m to toilets
Car park: 100m from carpark. Please note: On busy summer weekends, particularly from 12 noon onwards, vehicle congestion can be an issue. It could create parking and vehicle access difficulties for your group, and they may need to walk some distance from their vehicles to the site.
Power supply: No power supply available
Vehicle access: There is no vehicle access to this site
Note max persons: 200 people on weekends, public holidays and between Dec - Feb, 500 people the rest of the year. There is a large grassy games area.

Directions

Follow the finger signs from the main entrance to the site. Go right to the end of the public access road, or to the No.2 North Ground Loop car park and walk north approximately 50m.
