Information

Please note that booking hours for regional parks campgrounds, SCC campgrounds, SCC parking areas, baches and bookable sites is as follows:

Daylight saving: 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday through to Sunday
Non daylight saving: 8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Monday through to Sunday

No bookings can be taken over the phone (or in person on site) outside of these times.

No cash payments are available at any time on park. We strongly recommend that you call our contact centre in advance of your arrival on park on (09) 366 2000, option 1, to make your booking.

Animals (except aid dogs) are prohibited at all times.

Remember to be a tidy Kiwi!

All our regional parks are rubbish free. Whether you call it rubbish, trash or garbage, please bag it all up and recycle it or throw it away when you return home.

Important notice

Note: This SCC Campground is closed from 25 May to 31 October because of wet ground conditions.


This SCC campground has marked designated sites. Campers must camp in a marked designated site. Actual sites can not be booked and campers are able to camp in any available unoccupied site.

Campers are allowed one camper/unit per designated site. Additional vehicles, boats etc. are only allowed if they are able to fit on the site you occupy. All other vehicles or equipment that will not fit on site must be parked in the day use car park. All visitors must park in the day use car park.

SCC campers are still able the book and use as normal, Sullivan’s Bay Campground, pending available space.

About Mahurangi SCC campground

Vehicle/Unit must be under 8 metres in length and have current NZC5465: Self-Containment certificate that is issued by an authorised person from Ministry for the Environment.


Flat grass area, which is available for bookings during November to May (depending on ground conditions).

There are trees surrounding the SCC campground, providing shade.

Access: The SCC camp ground and the park are not accessible after park closing times. The combination codes will not open the main park entrance gate
Permitted: Up to 8 meters in length campervans, caravans, 5th-wheelers and small buses. Must have a current NZC5465: Self-Containment certificate that is issued by an authorised person from Ministry for the Environment. Person numbers are limited to the registered number for that vehicle/unit, under the NZC5465 certificate.
Prohibited: All trucks and portable container dwellings, Tents, campermatics and all vehicles/units, campervans, 5th Wheelers and caravans over 8 metres and WITH OUT a current NZC5465 certificate
Layout: Flat grass area with accessible during the months of November to May as ground conditions allow. There are trees surrounding the SCC campground providing shade. Please Note: Maximum of 3 consecutive nights allowed at this SCC campground. Vehicle and equipment must be removed from the park on the departure day. These conditions apply to any group or individual irrespective of booking name.

Directions

Drive down to the northern end of Sullivans Bay car park to the locked SCC campground gate on the left. The SCC campground is not accessible after main gate closing time.
