Start at Sullivan’s Bay and take the steep track up to Tungutu Point where stunning views of the Hauraki Gulf islands await you. Continue down the track to the picturesque Mita Bay. Follow the track up over the brow and down through the native bush before returning along the road to Sullivan’s Bay. Follow the blue markers.

What to expect

Walking tracks should be suitable for people with reasonable fitness levels.

Walking tracks will:
  • Have easy to moderate grades with mostly compacted and drained surfaces.
  • Be well sign-posted with directional signs at track entrances and junctions and have safety signs where required.
Walking tracks may:
  • Have steps on excessively steep areas.
  • Have timber boardwalks and bridges over permanent wet areas and waterways.
  • Have seats and maintained views at areas of interest.


Theft from vehicles is not common but unfortunately can happen. You should take the same reasonable precautions you take when parking at other locations and remember to lock your vehicle and take your valuables with you.
