From Piha Road, opposite the Cowan Track, Huia Ridge Track follows the Huia watershed fenceline to Lone Kauri Road. The track re-enters bush and follows undulating ridge around the upper Huia watershed before swinging right along the ridge between the Karamatura and Pararaha headwaters. The track then crosses a boardwalk and a small tributary of each valley before reaching Karamatura Forks.
