Please note that booking hours for regional parks campgrounds, SCC campgrounds, SCC parking areas, baches and bookable sites is as follows:

Daylight saving: 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday through to Sunday
Non daylight saving: 8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Monday through to Sunday

No bookings can be taken over the phone (or in person on site) outside of these times.

No cash payments are available at any time on park. We strongly recommend that you call our contact centre in advance of your arrival on park on (09) 366 2000, option 1, to make your booking.

Animals (except aid dogs) are prohibited at all times.

Remember to be a tidy Kiwi!

All our regional parks are rubbish free. Whether you call it rubbish, trash or garbage, please bag it all up and recycle it or throw it away when you return home.

About Tapapakanga Bach

Tapapakanga bach offers extensive views across farmland to the distant Coromandal Range. The bach is a 3 bedroom farmhouse that overlooks Tapapakanga Regional Park. The beach is approximately 20 minutes walk following the white markers. An attractive coastal farm park, Tapapakanga has a rich Maori and European history and offers an accessible, pohutukawa edged beach on the western shores of the Firth of Thames. The Tapapakanga Stream winds its way through the park.

Booking restriction period: Off peak period is June-September (incl). This bach can be booked up to six months from todays month. e.g. In June you may make a booking for a date in December.

Gate access The customer must phone the contact centre prior to visit to obtain the bach door access code.
Marquees: Marquees larger than 6 x 6 metres require a discretionary use permit from the Southern Sector Office
Check in time: 2:00 p.m.
Check out time:  12:00 p.m.
Bedrooms: Three bedrooms, 1 King / 1 Double / 1 double bunks single.
Bathroom and toilet: Bathroom with shower and cabinet.  Seperate toilet.
Kitchen: Fridge/freezer, stove, microwave, and toaster, jug, cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery provided.
Garage: Double garage is accessed via code lock.  Washing machine is in the garage.
Power supply: Power supply is standard domestic
Water: Bore supply through treated tank system.
Heating: Electric column heaters are provided. Stack fire place with wood supplied in winter.
Rubbish: Rubbish bin in house, please take your rubbish with you, or if staying for any length of time please check with the ranger regarding disposal.
You need to supply: Bed linen, blankets, duvets, sleeping bags, additional pillows, towels, tea towels, food, personal items etc.

Directions

Drive south on Highway 1, take the Manurewa off ramp and head for Clevedon. From Clevedon, follow the signs to Kawakawa Bay and on towards Orere Point. Just past Orere Point travel past Tapapakanga Regional Park entrance on Deery Road, the bach entrance is approximately 400m further on the left, 280 Orere Matingarahi Road . Use the gate combination provided on the booking form to access.
