Please note that booking hours for regional parks campgrounds, SCC campgrounds, SCC parking areas, baches and bookable sites is as follows:

Daylight saving: 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday through to Sunday
Non daylight saving: 8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Monday through to Sunday

No bookings can be taken over the phone (or in person on site) outside of these times.

No cash payments are available at any time on park. We strongly recommend that you call our contact centre in advance of your arrival on park on (09) 366 2000, option 1, to make your booking.

Animals (except aid dogs) are prohibited at all times.

Remember to be a tidy Kiwi!

All our regional parks are rubbish free. Whether you call it rubbish, trash or garbage, please bag it all up and recycle it or throw it away when you return home.

Important notice

Takatu Road:

Major road works will be undertaken by Auckland Transport this summer to upgrade and seal the last 4km of road to Tawharanui Regional Park, the works will reduce the road to one lane and cause delays. We ask that you take extra care when traveling along this section of Takatu Road.

During peak period a minimum two night stay applies at this bach over weekends (Fri/Sat or Sat/Sun)

Tawharanui Bach has a kitchen/dinning area, with a separate lounge, three bedrooms and a bathroom containing shower, toilet and sink.

Booking restriction period: Off peak period is June-September (incl). This bach can be booked up to six months from todays month. e.g. In June you may make a booking for a date in December.
Parking: Combined permitted and visitor vehicles are limited to 4 vehicles.
Check in time:   2:00 p.m. 
Check out time:  12 Noon
Cleaning: Bach operates on a self-clean basis.
Bedrooms: Three bedrooms; One with a double bed, one with two singles and one with a set of bunk beds. Please note: Top bunks are not recommended for children under 9yrs. 
Bathroom: Bathroom with shower and toilet.
Kitchen: Fridge/freezer, stove, toaster, kettle, pots/pans, cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery provided.
Power supply: Standard domestic power supply
Water: Bore water, treated potable water.
Heating: Electric column heater provided.
Rubbish: Tawharanui Bach has a bin, please use the rubbish bags provided and place rubbish bags in the wheelie bin outside the bach.
You need to supply: Bed linen, blankets, duvets, sleeping bags, additional pillows, towels, tea towels, food, personal items etc.
Boat launching: There are no boat launching facilities at the park.

Go through the main park entrance gate, then the predator gate. Immediately turn right through the gate and 70m along the driveway to the bach.
