Information

Please note that booking hours for regional parks campgrounds, SCC campgrounds, SCC parking areas, baches and bookable sites is as follows:

Daylight saving: 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday through to Sunday
Non daylight saving: 8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Monday through to Sunday

No bookings can be taken over the phone (or in person on site) outside of these times.

No cash payments are available at any time on park. We strongly recommend that you call our contact centre in advance of your arrival on park on (09) 366 2000, option 1, to make your booking.

Animals (except aid dogs) are prohibited at all times.

Remember to be a tidy Kiwi!

All our regional parks are rubbish free. Whether you call it rubbish, trash or garbage, please bag it all up and recycle it or throw it away when you return home.

About Waitawa Bach

Waitawa Bach overlooking Waitawa Bay, has distant views across to the Coromandal Ranges. Beach activities, walking, mountain biking tracks, fishing, relax under the large pohutakawa tree or even a round of disc golf ~ Waitawa has plenty to offer.

Booking restriction period: Off peak period is June-September (incl). This bach can be booked up to six months from todays month. e.g. In June you may make a booking for a date in December.

Check out time:  12 Noon
Cleaning: Bach operates on a self-clean basis.
Bedrooms: Three bedrooms. Two with queen beds and one with two single beds.
Bathrooms: One bathroom, which icludes disability toilet and shower and an automatic washing machine.
Kitchen: Fridge/freezer, stove, dishwasher.  Toaster, jug, cooking utensils, crockery, pots, pans and cutlery also provided.
Lounge: Good sized lounge with sleeper/couch with stunning coastal views!
Dining Room: Seperate dining room leading off the kitchen.
Power supply: Standard domestic power supply.
Water: Dam supply, potable water.
Heating: Heat pump.
Rubbish: No bins provided.  Take home all rubbish and recycling.
You need to supply: Bed linen, blankets, duvets, sleeping bags, additional pillows, towels, tea towels, food, personal items etc.
Outside:
  • Picnic tables.
  • Generous parking.
  • Lawns.
  • Access to Waitawa Bay.

Directions

Directions to Waitawa Regional Park

Take State Highway 1 south. After 22km, go straight onto exit 451 Hill Road and turn left onto Hill Road. After 0.8km you will reach a roundabout; turn right taking exit 2 onto Stratford Road. At the next roundabout, go straight through onto Alfriston Rd. Follow this road until the T-junction and turn right onto West Road. Continue along and turn left onto Papakura-Clevedon Road. Continue along until you reach Waitawa.

The bach is located overlooking Waitawa Bay.  Access is via a internal park road, following the signs.  The second gate has a combination lock and must be closed at all times.
